Highway Department

Office Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

The McDonough County Highway Department provides a variety of services to the public including:

  • Responsible for construction, maintenance and repair of 180 miles of County Roads, and 170 bridges and structures in the system.

  • Plowing snow, patching roads, cleaning and replacing culverts, sign maintenance and replacement, shoulder repairs and brush mowing.

  • Seal coating and complete road rehabilitation.

  • Provide guidance to the Road Districts in the County on best methods for construction, repair and maintenance of roads and bridges.

  • Issue permits for oversize/overweight vehicles, entrances, and utilities.

    Bids will be opened at Noon on April 13, 2026.
    *Trucks are being sold as is with no waranties.*
    Bids shall state which truck you are bidding on.

  • 2002 Mack Truck with 392,158 miles
  • 2001 Mack Truck with 429,721 miles

    • Both trucks can be inspected at the Highway Department located at 204 S. Western Ave., Macomb
