The State’s Attorney’s Office represents the People of the State of Illinois as the chief law enforcement officer for all criminal prosecutions which occur in McDonough County.
In this capacity, the State’s Attorney’s Office works closely with all local law enforcement agencies to ensure all criminal laws are enforced. In addition, the State’s Attorney’s Office provides legal advice and representation for the McDonough County Board and the elected and appointed McDonough County department heads. In this capacity, the State’s Attorney’s Office defends all actions brought against the County Board or McDonough County department heads in their official capacity and assists in enforcing the McDonough County Ordinances.
